Sir Ken Robinson and Creativity

I am posting a video from an incredible speaker and thinker around the subject of creativity and schools. His name is Sir Ken Robinson and I have had the distinct privilege to meet him and hear him speak in person at a leadership conference last school year. His message is quite simple: Schools, as they are constructed today, kill creativity in children.

This particular video is a shorter version of the talk I saw and was presented at the annual TED conference held annually on the Monterey Peninsula on the central coast of California. Sir Ken was a college professor born and raised in England. He now resides in Los Angeles and has written a couple of books on the subject of schools and creativity. Please take the time to watch the video. It is approximately 20 minutes in length and is what we used to begin our conference on Monday.

I could watch this video everyday and glean now inspiration from what he says about schools. Invest the time. Funny thing...he kind of looks like the Craftsman...
